Kiwanis Treasure Hunt aims to raise RM500,000 for children with Down Syndrome

PETALING JAYA: Kiwanis Club of Kuala Lumpur (KCKL) will be organising the 35th Kiwanis Treasure Hunt 2018.

Details:

Date: May 26 -27
Nature of hunt: Road trip
Places covered: Kuala Lumpur and Melaka
Aim: To raise fund of RM500,000 for children with Down Syndrome
Registration: www.kckl.org.my

The fund raised will go towards sustaining The Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation - National Centre (KDSF-NC) as an educational centre for young children with Down Syndrome. Part of the funds will also be channelled to other community service projects undertaken by KCKL.

This year, LBS Bina Group Berhad (LBS) and MGB Berhad (MGB) collectively pledged RM30,000 in support of the Kiwanis Treasure Hunt 2018 and its cause.

“There is strength in numbers. It is important for corporations or individuals with the resources to contribute towards causes to help communities in need. Coming together to help others is a noble deed and important in order for us to move forward.

LBS and MGB are very honoured to be a part of this inspiring organisation,” said LBS Bina Group managing director and MGB Bhd managing director Tan Sri Lim Hock San in a statement.

About KDSF-NC:

  1. Offers special learning facilities and services to support children with Down Syndrome and their families
  2. Has a consistent enrolment of up to 150 children
  3. Annual operational cost exceeds RM1 million
  4. Conducts an Early Intervention Programme for children with Down Syndrome aged two months to six years old
  5. Constantly needs the support from the community and corporations for the benefit of its students
