JOHOR BARU: Johor will witness aggressive economic growth and a better life for its people in a transformative way in 10 years time, said Johor tourism, domestic trade and consumerism committee chairman Datuk Tee Siew Kiong.
He said through the Johor New Decade mission, the state would realise the main vision of the Johor Yang Berkemajuan concept.
The mission was based on factors related to the advantages of Johor and the opportunities that the state could benefit from.
“Firstly, 10 years from now, Johor will see major developments, especially in its infrastructure, making it modern and well-planned,” he said at the launch of the upgraded Greenland Jade Palace Sales Office in Danga Bay here.
“Secondly, the Johor New Decade mission is targeting a drastic change in the state’s economy driven by creativity, technology and innovative ideas.
“We will encourage the growth of digital and creative economies as well as build up the green economy on a big scale and provide a platform for the traditional way of doing business,” he said.
Thirdly, he said the mission would also include a transformation of system and work culture in the Government as well as in the digital community.
“Fourthly, the skills of Bangsa Johor people will be improved.
“We aim to have at least one in every family obtain a degree and help uplift their families,” he said.
The fifth factor would be the focus on green and sustainability efforts in the state while the sixth factor involved the state striving to ensure that the Johor family institution would remain strong.
