If your home is near the upcoming MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) line, answers to your burning concerns will be making their way towards you.
Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRT Corp) has launched its new touchpoints for the SSP Line, which will serve as hubs for the public to obtain information about the project.
MRT SSP Line project director Datuk Amiruddin Ma’aris said the touchpoints comprise two MRT Information Centres, an MRT Information Kiosk and an MRT Information Truck.
“This is not the first time we have used these three touchpoints; we used this technique to educate the public and gather feedback during the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang line construction.
“Following the success of those touchpoints, we are now reintroducing them with the SSP Line as our main focus,” he told a press conference at the MRT Information Centre in Seri Kembangan.
The SSP Line has a MRT Information Centres at The Atmosphere Business Centre in Seri Kembangan and the other at Viva Mall in Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, Kuala Lumpur.
“Both information centres are strategically located along the SSP Line and are open to public from Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm,” said Amiruddin.
The MRT Information Kiosk is a booth that goes on a roadshow with a new location every two months, usually at shopping centres, transit hubs and other places with high pedestrian traffic.
The MRT Information Truck is a mobile version of the information centre, and will be deployed at morning and night markets, houses of worship, schools and higher education institutions as well as other public areas along the SSP Line.
Locations of both the information kiosk and truck, and their respective operating hours will be updated from time to time on MRT Corp’s official website www.mymrt.com.my
“All three touchpoints have information boards with details about the project, such as the alignment, station locations, and benefits of the MRT.
“There is also the interactive Hawkeye application which displays a 360-degree aerial view of the entire alignment,” said Amiruddin.
He added that all touchpoints would be manned by MRT information officers who were equipped to deal with public concerns.
Any other questions from commuters would be forwarded to the relevant authorities for a response.
The MRT SSP Line is the second MRT line to be developed in the Klang Valley, at a length of 52.2km.
It will begin in Sungai Buloh, passing through the town centre, to Serdang and Seri Kembangan and then end at Putrajaya Sentral.
Phase One of the SSP Line between Sungai Buloh and Kampung Batu station is expected to be operational by July 2021, while the entire line is expected to be ready by July 2022.
