WHY buy a normal home when housing developer I-Berhad now offers smart homes where the lights come on automatically on detecting body heat in a room.
In addition, the curtains in the smart homes draw apart while the air conditioning switches on automatically.
Homeowners can also control their electronic gadgets from the palm of their hands.
Being overseas and away from home is no longer an issue as doors can even be unlocked via the Internet of Things (IoT) feature fitted into these homes, which are i-City’s latest development.
To be launched on June 10, this development featuring an intelligent development will be unveiled at the StarProperty Fair 2017 i-City edition at their i-Gallery in Shah Alam.
“There we will feature a show unit fully equipped with technological features for visitors to experience how it will be like,” she said, adding that this would attract those who appreciated a digital technology lifestyle.
The launch will see one 42-storey tower with the bottom half occupied by the Double Tree by Hilton hotel and the top half with 200 units of home suites.
The hotel will be from the ground floor to level 23 of the tower while the home suites, fitted to hotel standards, start from level 24 to level 42.
Homeowners can literally move in to the home suites with only a packed suitcase.
“Even for the Hilton Group of hotels worldwide, this will be the first featuring the IoT technology.
“This fusion of technology and property is certainly something new which makes this property fair a one of a kind and an exciting one for all visitors,” she said.
Scheduled for completion towards the second half of 2019, this project will also introduce the first-of-its-kind Guest-Room Management system programmed to provide a better guest experience.
Upon check-in, a room will be pre-cooled to 25°C and then to 23ºC while the guests are in the lifts.
As guests enter the room their body heat will activate a series of features such as the lights, curtain and television.
This will help manage energy consumption in the hotel and deter guests from leaving the card in the card slot with the lights and air conditioning for a whole stay.
“Our gross development value for the hotel is RM250mil and right now, piling works are almost completed and our timeline is right on track,” she said.
To add on, the Central i-City shopping centre located opposite the hotel will be ready in October next year with piling works already completed.
Ong is confident the project will be well received thanks to its unique features and selling point.
The units measure between 480sq ft and 880sq ft and are priced from RM500,000.
Also present at the press launch was Star Media Group Berhad managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai, who was excited over the collaboration with i-City for the property fair.
“We are happy to be part of this exciting project and historic moment where a new benchmark of technologically incorporated homes are built,” he said.
He added that the new development would surely put i-City ahead of all other developments.
