KUALA LUMPUR: Arcoris Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of UEM Sunrise Bhd has entered into a management agreement with an affiliate of Hyatt Hotels & Resorts for a Hyatt House hotel in Mont Kiara. Mont Kiara is an affluent suburb located three miles (five kilometres) from central Kuala Lumpur.
Expected to open in 2017, the hotel will be part of a larger mixed use development, namely Arcoris Mont Kiara, which will also feature business suites, small home offices (SoHo), residential units and a retail plaza. Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur, Mont Kiara, will mark the first Hyatt House hotel in Malaysia that will feature approximately 298 guest rooms, a three-meal restaurant, 3,100 sq ft of meeting space, a fitness centre and a sky pool.
“We are delighted to bring the Hyatt House brand to Kuala Lumpur, and we are honoured to start our relationship with UEM Sunrise - one of the largest real estate developers in Malaysia.
“We believe that Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur, Mont Kiara, will be able to cater to a growing extended stay market in the Kuala Lumpur area. We look forward to welcoming guests and making them feel at home,” said Hyatt vice president of real estate and development Asia Pacific Patrick Finn.
The Hyatt House brand is established through extensive research and consumer insights, which indicated that extended stay travellers want to feel connected, welcome and at home, and want a hotel that accommodates this lifestyle.
To embody this, Hyatt House hotels offer casual hospitality in a welcoming and warm environment that encourages guests live like residents. Just like all the other Hyatt House hotels around the world, Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur will make guests feel more like residents during their stay.
“We are proud to enter into a management services agreement with Hyatt, and to bring Hyatt’s extended stay experience to Malaysia.
“Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur, Mont Kiara completes the overall implementation plan of our award-winning Arcoris Mont Kiara development, which is designed by the London-based architectural firm, Foster + Partners.
“It is a significant milestone that marks UEM Sunrise’s inaugural venture into the hospitality industry as we expand our business portfolio. Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur, Mont Kiara addresses the needs of business and leisure travellers in the affluent Mont Kiara enclave and its wider surrounding,” said UEM Sunrise managing director/chief executive office Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib.
Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur will be an ideal base for business and leisure travellers, as well as families looking to keep their real-life routines rolling, even when they are on the road. The hotel will be ideally located near top international school, Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club and the main business districts of Kuala Lumpur Sentral and Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
