HATTEN Land Limited, a group listed in the Singapore Stock Exchange, is optimistic that its RM300mil SATORI wellness-themed project in Melaka will be completely sold before the end of the year.
Hatten chief sales & marketing officer Colin Tan Kok Liang says in an interview that the group's first phase has received overwhelming response.
SATORI, scheduled for completion in 2020, comprises 336 units of hotel suites, 192 serviced suites, and is equipped with more than 50 world-standard fitness-health-wellness facilities.
“The second phase of the hotel suites will be launched soon,” Tan says.
The price of a hotel suite unit ranges between RM400,000 and RM700,000.
He spoke at the launch of the new Hatten sales gallery in Penang, located in Menara Northam Tower at Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah.
“Before setting up the 2,000sq ft sales gallery in Penang, our sales team generated very good response from the roadshows held in Penang.
“This is why we are confident of doing well in Penang,” he says.
Hatten Land Limited other sales galleries are in Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Johor Bahru, Muar, Seremban and Pahang.
On the wellness-theme of SATORI, Tan says the global wellness market is valued currently at US$3.7trillion.
“Wellness tourism is growing two times faster than any other tourism. A wellness tourist spends 130% more than the other tourists,” Tan added.
SATORI has wellness facilities such as mud bath, stone bath, meditation room, and aerial yoga room.
On upcoming projects, Tan says there are two more projects planned for 2018.
“We have 26.7ha (66 acres) of landbank in Melaka Raya, the city centre,” he says.
Tan says in view of Hatten outstanding success in Melaka, a UNESCO World Heritage City, the group hopes to achieve similar success in Penang, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage City.
“By embracing the rich local culture and heritage, Hatten is bringing its expertise in property development to the state in order to add value to the local economy as well as to enrich the community.
“This strategy is in line with its vision of ‘Building Tomorrow Together’,” he says.
