The southern region is the Klang Valley’s new growth corridor, says Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents former president Siva Shanker.
He said this at the Dream House Showcase which was held at Setia EcoHill, Semenyih earlier this month.
Siva also pinpointed Semenyih as the focus of major developers because of its strategic advantages as a well-established town. The advantages include its location just 8km away from Kajang; easy accessibility from other parts of the Klang Valley via the major highways and the upcoming Sg Buloh-Kajang MRT line; the availability of good schools, colleges and universities as well as recreational facilities in the vicinity.
Most important of all, he said, was the high population growth of 12.9% in Semenyih versus the national average of 2.16%. Siva elaborated that in 1991, the population stood at 15,100 but by 2000, it had increased to 45,000.
The Dream Home Showcase was organised in anticipation of the handover of vacant possession of the first phase of Setia EcoHill, which is targeted by the end of this month.
The objectives of this two-day event were to increase the move-in rate as well as to encourage property agents to promote the township to the secondary market. With a total of 2,000 visitors over the two days, these objectives are well on their way to being met.
In addition, there were many enquiries about upcoming launches in the township and an overwhelming number of potential buyers registered their interest in both the Floris Collection of superlink houses as well as medium-cost apartments which were previewed over the weekend. Both products are expected to be launched in October.
Also on centrestage this weekend was Jet Set with SP Setia contest, which is the second wave of SP Setia Bhd’s 40th anniversary campaign. Buyers who sign a sales and purchase agreement between now and Dec 1 stand a chance to win a holiday in the major cities where SP Setia has a presence, including London, Melbourne, Ho Chi Minh City and more.
The event also included a home living exhibition, outdoor activities and workshops for the whole family, as well as a Lucky Door contest where participants had the chance to win mystery prizes.
Many visitors to the Dream Home Showcase said the event gave them a good reason to use the newly opened LEKAS-EcoHill Link. They were extremely pleased with the experience, saying that it not only shortened their journey to Setia EcoHill, they could bypass the heavy traffic on Jalan Semenyih.
