KL South’s First Concept Driven Integrated Development Welcomes MBO Cinemas
PETALING JAYA: Setia EcoHill Sdn Bhd today inked an agreement with MBO Cinemas to confirm the cinema as EcoHill Walk Mall’s first tenant.
The cinema will take up 58,000 sq ft out of the 170,000 sq ft nett lettable area (NLA) in the newly launched EcoHill Walk Mall, the neighbourhood mall at Setia EcoHill, Semenyih.
“EcoHill Walk Mall, anchored by MBO Cinemas and a soon-announced mainstream grocery brand, will become the first lifestyle and commercial development right here in the Southern Klang Valley.
“EcoHill Walk is functional, secure and convenient with a pedestrian walkway that is seamless, connected and void of vehicles. Link bridges also extend the convenience of reach between the serviced apartments, neighbourhood mall and the commercial shops,” said Setia EcoHill general manager Koh Sooi Meng in a statement.
Spreading across 17.5 acres of land, EcoHill Walk is planned into the sustainable township of Setia EcoHill to cater to the retail, lifestyle and entertainment needs of its community.
With an estimated overall gross development value of RM900mil, EcoHill Walk consists of three phases of developments. It includes 80 units of commercial retail shops to be built across eight blocks, EcoHill Walk Mall and 890 units of serviced apartments.
“In line with S P Setia’s development philosophy of LiveLearnWorkPlay, MBO Cinemas will build an 11 halls cinemas with more than 2,000 seats featuring these special halls such as MBO’s own Premium Large Format screen, 4D technology by MX4D, Premier Lounge, Kids’ Hall as well as MBO’s brand of Café, the Cafecito,” said MBO Cinemas chief executive officer Lim Eng Hee.
Moreover, the unique Diamond Façade of The Gem@EcoHill Walk is designed to be a premium entertainment centrepiece. The iconic structure spreading across 23,000 sq ft provides a fantastic view of the waterscapes that surround it and it is earmarked to host premium entertainment and fine dining.
EcoHill Walk Mall, located at the 673-acre Setia EcoHill, will also feature a four-storey mall with 2,000 car park bays.
The overall splendid design of EcoHill Walk is inspired by the Grand Canyon, where the massive steep canyon walls flanking each other create a valley that is vibrant and alive, bursting with activity and movement in its hollow.
By year 2020, the township’s projected population within 15-minutes’ drive proximity is expected to reach approximately 300,000 residents. Approximately 10,000 houses will be ready in the next 4 years.
Setia EcoHill is planning to launch its phase 2 semi-detached houses in Q1 2017.
