A state assemblyman has urged residents of Kampung DBI in Perak not to listen to rumours regarding the 15ha redevelopment plan being pursued by the state, Malaysia Nanban reported.
A. Sivasubramaniam asked the residents to ignore unverified information being spread by certain parties over the project.
The Perak state government has plans to relocate the villagers and squatters to the new development, which will include housing, shoplots, a playground, and other facilities for the residents.
Sivasubramaniam said the project is expected to benefit the squatters and villagers currently living in the area by providing better living conditions.

The project was approved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s federal government and contracts were awarded to several private companies across 44 oil fields, including 28 on land.
