JOHOR BARU: THE recently concluded StarProperty.my Fair 2017 at Johor Baru City Square shopping mall offered a wide range of choices of commercial and residential properties for prospective buyers.
Visitors to the three-day event from July 28 to 30 gave the thumbs up as they were able to shop around for properties under one roof.
The choices included landed property or high-rise apartment units based on their budget.
Most of the development projects are located in south Johor, especially in Iskandar Malaysia.
Siti Zaleha Mohd Zaini described the number of developers taking part in the event as good because they offered a wide range of properties for buyers.
She said the venue for the event was also good because of its strategic location in downtown Johor Baru where there was a high volume of human traffic which was good for the developers taking part in the fair.
“I am here looking for a house for my son as I already bought a house for my daughter about two years ago,’’ said Siti Zaleha.
She said it was important to buy property from reputable developers to ensure they would deliver their products on time and get quality workmanship.
Siti Zaleha said her family already owned several houses in Iskandar Malaysia, adding that residential properties were good investments.
William Tan and his fiancée Samantha Lim will tie the knot next January and have already made preparations to move into their own house.
“We prefer to live in our own place instead of staying with our parents or parents-in-law,’’ said Tan.
They are looking for a double-storey house in or around Iskandar Puteri which is near the Second Link Crossing in Tanjung Kupang, Gelang Patah.
Lim said it made sense for them to buy a house in Iskandar Puteri which is a short distance from the Second Link Crossing as both of them work in Singapore and commute daily.
“My parents are also staying in Iskandar Puteri and we want to be near them as we can visit them regularly,’’ she said.
Pensioner Wong Siew Tiong and wife Lim Bee Ling visited the event as they were looking for a bungalow or a cluster home for their extended family.
“Our son is on a business trip overseas and asked us to come to the event to look for a property,’’ said Wong, adding that he had collected several brochures and would pass them to him.
He said the family preferred to live in the Tebrau area where their current double-storey house is located because of its accessibility as well as the many facilities available such as banks, schools and shopping complexes.
Developers who took part in the StarProperty.my Fair 2017 were EcoWorld Development Group Bhd, Bukit Pelali Properties, Gamuda Land, Mah Sing Group, UMLand, Pulai Spring, Premier Property Plus, Symphony Life Berhad and Uda Land (South) .
A series of talks were also held on July 29 and 30, covering property-related topics and issues including advice for young people buying their first home, the property market outlook as well as feng shui.
The next StarProperty.my Fair 2017 will be held from Aug 11 to 13 at Sunway Pyramid, Petaling Jaya (Blue and Orange Concourse) from 10am to 10pm.
Visitors to the upcoming event stand a chance to win a serviced suite in Petaling Jaya worth more than RM550,000 just by registering at the StarProperty.my booth or visiting the website: http://wah.starproperty.my
