More than 200 people joined a symbolic mass tossing of yee sang at the d’Tempat Country Club in Bandar Sri Sendayan, Seremban, to usher in the Year of the Dog.
It was organised by Seremban-based developer Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd as part of its Chinese New Year open house, adopting the 1980s Oriental street decor as its theme this year.
Present were group chairman Datuk Mohamad Haslah Mohd Amin and group managing director Datuk Lee Tian Hock.
The crowd of more than 2,000 people were entertained by eight “lions” which performed an acrobatic dance and a God of Prosperity, who gave out candies to the children.
Guests were also enthralled by a an impersonation of Mr Bean and a Chinese mask changing show.
“We want the people to embrace this diversity and celebrate all festivities together as a nation,” Lee said.
He said they would continue to organised such programmes in years to come and urged everyone to support moderation and unity.
Lee said several corporate social responsibility initiatives has also been lined up by the company in an effort to assist the underprivileged.
Matrix Concepts is the developer of Bandar Sri Sendayan’s new township, offering a host of mixed development projects.
