PETALING JAYA: From 467th last year, Country Garden Holdings has improved on their position in the Fortune Global 500 list 2018 to 353rd, moving up 114 places. The company has also climbed up in the 2018 edition of the Forbes Global 2000 list to 143rd, jumping up 130 places from last year.
The Fortune Global 500 is an annual ranking by Fortune Magazine based on revenue, while the Forbes Global 2000 is a comprehensive list of the world's most prominent and influential companies, as measured by a composite ranking for sales, profits, assets, and market value.
Last year, Country Garden achieved gross revenue of 226.9 billion yuan (approx. US$33.6 billion), a jump of 46 per cent year-on-year.
From a small Chinese residential property business with only one property in Shunde District, Foshan, in Guangdong province, Country Garden has taken a big leap into being a large international real estate developer with over 1,900 residential properties across the globe and property developments spanning over 700 cities and towns across China.
According to Country Garden Holdings chairman Yang Guoqiang, the company has always emphasised that quality and property management are their lifelines with all their 180,000 employees required to consider every detail of the company’s operations with the spirit of craftsmanship.
Country Garden had been awarded China’s most coveted awards in the real estate and construction engineering sectors such as the China Civil Engineering Zhantianyou Award, the China Construction Project Luban Award, the National Green Construction Demonstration Project and the National AAA Safe and Civilized Demonstration Site, a testament to their innovation and quality.
Country Garden has rolled out several new technologies and concept innovations to enhance their construction process and quality. The company’s proprietary Standard and Shareable Geospatial Foundation (SSGF), a construction system based on fully interspersed construction and integrated design of the building’s moulds coupled with careful management.
The system has incorporated more than 20 new technologies and helped to solve several common quality problems at the source including structural cracks and leaks. Further cutting the labour cost and project completion time, making it possible for homebuyers to acquire high-quality residences at a more affordable price.
Country Garden has also ventured into new areas including city-industry integration and long-term apartment rentals. These ventures are complemented with an end-to-end suite of support services, providing access to financial, property management, commercial, entertainment, healthcare and educational resources to meet the homeowner’s or renter’s various needs.
