TEN wholesome developers were highlighted for consistent excellence at the StarProperty.my Awards Night 2017 on March 21.

The highly anticipated event saw many prominent names of the property industry strutting the red carpet in style and elegance.

Many distinguished awards were presented that night but one award stood out from the rest.

The "All-Star Award: The Top Ranked Developers of the Year" was bestowed on 10 developers for continually creating and adding value to their projects.

An all-star developer would engage with many key stakeholders while making the community its prime concern, from pre-sale to post-sale.

A developer that falls under this category and enjoys recognition will regularly surpass the expectations of its clients and raise the bar with every future development.

The 10 esteemed developers accorded this prestigious accolade at the 2017 awards ceremony were Eco World Development Group Bhd, Gamuda Land, IJM Land Bhd,

IOI Properties Group Bhd, Mah Sing Group Bhd, S P Setia Bhd, Sime Darby Property Bhd, Sunway Bhd, Tropicana Corporation Bhd and UEM Sunrise Bhd.

Affin Hwang Asset Management Bhd head of equity strategies and advisory Gan Eng Peng said the shortlisted candidates represented the big names in the property industry, and they all had excellent branding and a proven track record to match.

“These developers hold a strong balance sheet, allowing them to overcome obstacles through many cycles and achieve sustainable growth,” Gan added.

As last year's event, the company was tasked to assess the quantitative criteria of each developer, and to act in an advisory role by presenting the nancial performance of the participants to the panel of judges.

Asked how contenders could improve their individual nancial standing, Gan said the developers should take the lead based on the requirements or demands of their clientele.

“This translates to crafting property products that are within the budget of today's purchasers, for example below RM800,000 for landed properties and below RM500,000 for high-rise units.

“Such an action plan should improve sales and cash flow for developers that may not be currently performing at their peak,” Gan concluded.

Testament of trust

The inaugural Readers and Voters’ Choice Award – which was awarded to Eco World Development Group Bhd, IJM Land Bhd and SP Setia Bhd – drew over 10,000 online voters over two weeks of voting.
