Why following the trend might not be a good idea
PETALING JAYA: When it comes to property purchase, one should not buy because many others are buyings, as the "majority" is usually not wealthy, said Mastery Asia Sdn Bhd chief executive officer See Kok Chong.
According to him, a property purchase by an investor should be a rational decision that considers factor such as the returns, the appreciation of value and security from reliable developers.
He added that a property investor should buy what the potential tenant likes, as a wrong decision will tie one down for a long time and it is difficult to dispose of a property that attracts no tenants.
It is also in See's belief that smart investors attend property exhibitions to do research on prices and to glean further information regarding the market.
“We need expert's advice to make investment decisions. First-hand information on updates and trends are required to make an informed decision. You cannot use last years information on today’s investment decision as the market is always changing,” said See.
See Kok Chong recently spoke at the Property Mastery Conference 2017.
