PETALING JAYA: Aug 8 2017 saw property developer Cenang Resort Sdn Bhd (“Cenang Resort”) announcing its strategic partnership with Wanda Hotels & Resorts, a world-renowned hotel management company that will manage Wanda Realm Resort Langkawi placed inside the resort-themed Tropicana Cenang mixed-development.
Through the strategic partnership, both Cenang Resort and Wanda Hotels & Resorts will spearhead new direction in resort management given Wanda Hotels & Resorts’ extensive experience in providing high-quality, international standard hotel management that will further boost the uniqueness of Tropicana Cenang.
Poised proudly along one of Langkawi’s most vibrant pristine beach stretches, the development has a gross development value of RM1.55bil.
Tropicana Cenang is comprised of a hotel, two 40-storey residential towers and commercial components tailored for the tourism and services industry.
Tower A is expected to be completed by the end of 2021, while Tower B is targeted for completion by the end of 2022.
Holding a GDV of RM1.2bil, the 1,102 fully furnished units of serviced residences offer three design options with scenic views – two, three and four bedroom units presented in built-up areas ranging from 771 sq ft to 1,294 sq ft.
This upscale property will meet the needs of a myriad of market segment with the two-bedroom units’ perfect for young couples or small families while the three and four-bedroom units are better matched to larger families.
The commercial component that would service the development holds a GDV of RM49mil, offering a total of 16 units with built up areas that range between 479 sq ft to 1,453 sq ft expected for completion by the end of 2022.

The agreement was signed between Cenang Resort chairman Datuk Wira Abdullah Hasnan Kamaruddin, and Wanda Hotels & Resorts vice president Ilja Peopper.

The signing event also saw Cenang Resorts announcing a separate strategic partnership with Sino Great Wall Co Ltd who will act as the contractor of the seafront mixed development.
The jewel of this development is Wanda Realm Resort Langkawi which is also the first Wanda Realm brand overseas.
