JOHOR BARU: The capital city of Johor was initially called Tanjung Puteri under the administration of Temenggong Daing Ibrahim, back in 1855.
Succeeded by his son, Temenggong Abu Bakar who was later crowned the Sultan of Johor by Queen Victoria of England in 1886, Sultan Abu Bakar of Johor implemented a state constitution, developed a British-style administration and constructed the Istana Besar, the official residence of the Sultan.
Now home to the Southern Economic Growth Corridor, Johor is poised to become an economic development powerhouse with strategic planning by the state government.
“We will provide good infrastructure and ensure political stability in the state to instil confidence in investors,” he said when asked about the state government’s policies in attracting more investors to the state.
Realising the need to create greater awareness of Johor properties among the regional communities and the investors, StarProperty.my Awards: Jewels of Johor is back again for the second time this year.
