HUNDREDS of families thronged the Garden Fest at the new Sunway Wellesley housing estate near Jalan Permatang Rawa in Bukit Mertajam, Penang.
Organised by Sunway Property Penang, the fun-filled event saw families from around the area spending an evening together as part of the ‘Living Sunway Living Community’ series of events held by the developer.
Performances by a live band, magic show and a fire juggling performance were organised for the guests.
Sunway Property’s partner, broadcast company Astro, also delighted everyone especially the children with appearances of Transformers character Bumblebee and Marvel’s Iron Man.
Also present was Sunway Berhad property development division deputy managing director Tan Wee Bee, who handed out RM10,000 each to Shammah Children's Home, Association of Mentally Retarded Children Central Seberang Prai and Pertubuhan Penyayang Chi Yun Bukit Mertajam.
He said: “Sunway Wellesley is one of our most popular projects in Penang spanning over 33.2ha of freehold land.
“With a gross development value of RM800mil, the strategically located project combines urban conveniences with lush landscaped green spaces.
“Work on the project's second phase is almost completed. It has 60 units of three-storey semi-detached homes and 154 three-storey townhouses. It is set in a gated and guarded community with gardens.”
In his speech, Tan also said the houses in Sunway Wellesley would also be Astro plug-and-play ready with built-in fibre-optic connectivity.
