PETALING JAYA: Plantation firm Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd’s (FGV) chairman Datuk Wira Azhar Abdul Hamid has been appointed chairman at Felda’s sugar refining subsidiary, MSM Malaysia Holdings Bhd.

Azhar was also the previous group managing director of Malakoff Corp Bhd and became FGV chairman on Sept 8.

MSM Malaysia told Bursa Malaysia yesterday that its board of directors had approved the appointment.

Pursuant to this, Datuk Rosini Abdul Samad has ceased to be MSM Malaysia’s acting chairman, but continues to be a member of the company’s board.

Rosini was named acting chairman on June 19, when Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad resigned as chairman of both MSM Malaysia and FGV.

MSM Malaysia also announced the resignation of Datuk Noor Ehsanuddin Mohd Harun Narrashid due to professional and personal reasons.

Noor Ehsanuddin had last month stepped down as director of FGV and of Felda Investment Corp’s listed unit Encorp Bhd.
