PUTRAJAYA: Retail asset management group Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd unveiled its visionary plans to redevelop Alamanda Shopping Centre, reaffirming its steadfast commitment to providing the ultimate elevated experience in the heart of Putrajaya.
Marking the first major redevelopment since the establishment of Alamanda Shopping Centre in 2004, the construction commenced on June 20, 2023 with the planned completion and relaunch in the fourth quarter of 2024.
The redevelopment project will introduce an expanded retail space, accommodating a broader range of retailers to meet the diverse needs and preferences of valued customers. With a total incremental net lettable area (NLA) of approximately 50,000 sq ft, the mall will provide a vibrant marketplace for new and established brands elevating the shopping experience in Putrajaya.
Enhancing the Alamanda experience, there are enlarged entertainment facilities to cater to visitors of all ages. This includes additional halls at a state-of-the-art family-friendly cinema as well as the expansion of the bowling area. One of the most exciting features that Alamanda will be introducing is an adventure park at the Esplanade. This feature will provide visitors with a diverse range of recreational outdoor activities, ensuring unforgettable experiences for families and friends.
This redevelopment project will bring about captivating enhancements to the mall's landscaping and overall design. At the rear of the Alamanda picture a lush lawn surrounded by planters with built-in seating, creating a welcoming gathering space. Mature trees will offer shade with new activity decks built over the upper steps offering unobstructed views of the lake.
Internally the redesigned aesthetics and layout of Alamanda will captivate visitors, offering a modern and sophisticated ambience. The mall will feature new marble flooring throughout with new transparent glass balustrades and stainless-steel handrails, providing a clean and streamlined impression.
The redevelopment will build spaces that foster community engagement, support retail partners, and drive increased footfall. For better accessibility, the carpark blocks will also undergo enhancements aimed at optimising traffic flow and accommodating a higher volume of visitors.
“Alamanda Shopping Centre has always held a special place as more than just a mall – it serves as a gathering spot where family, friends, and the community come together,” said Suria KLCC executive director and chief executive officer Andrew Brien. “With this highly anticipated redevelopment, this beloved mall will get the elevation it truly deserves. We are redefining its look and feel, infusing it with a fresh and sophisticated profile that breathes new life into its corridors. This transformative endeavour will elevate Alamanda Shopping Centre to a vibrant community hub, solidifying its position as an iconic destination in Putrajaya.”
Alamanda Shopping Centre is connected via three major highways, namely, the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), Maju Expressway (MEX) and PLUS Expressway.
