SHAH ALAM: In conjunction with the Eid celebration, IJM Land’s Bandar Rimbayu recently celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri with an evening themed “Cahaya Raya” at The Arc @ Bandar Rimbayu.
The one-day event started at 2.30pm with a cooking demonstration by the ambassador chef of Signature Kitchen, Chef Johnny Fua and a Malaysian celebrity chef, Chef Datuk Ismail.
Chef Johnny Fua, one of the rising stars in the Southeast Asian culinary scene, shared three recipes of canapes and desserts, whereas Chef Datuk Ismail, an internationally renowned Malaysian chef specialising in local and traditional food cooked green chilli rice (nasi cili hijau) and chicken rendang.
At the end of each session, the audience were invited to taste the delightful food from each chef.
“This is my first time attending an event by IJM Land. I can’t believe that I get to see Chef Johnny Fua and Chef Datuk Ismail live in action and the food cooked by both chefs are awesomely delicious. I can’t wait to try and make them at home,” said a member of the audience, Ridhwan Razali.
During the cooking demonstration, traditional games, such as congkak, batu seremban, berjalan atas selipar tin and baling selipar were available. There was also a demonstration on how to weave palm leaves (also known as menganyam ketupat) by Puan Asiah.
After the cooking demonstration, a session on property talk and property update was presented by Faizul Ridzuan and Ishmael Ho. There was also a lucky draw, where 20 winners were entitled to a one-to-one session with Faizul Ridzuan.
The event ended with a raya buffet dinner where traditional Malaysian delicacies was served to the guests and a fireworks display at 9pm.
