COURTS Malaysia has concluded a special 30th anniversary initiative under its Rumah Amal Courts corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.
Thirty homes in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, serving the needs of children, the elderly and those with special needs, received special makeovers with donations and contributions of furniture and home essentials totalling RM125,000.
More than 3,800 residents benefited from the initiative, which saw their homes repaired, repainted and cleaned by more than 150 volunteers from both Courts and its partner, 1Malaysia for Youth (iM4U).
Volunteers also took the time to engage residents with games and activities, as well as prepare and serve them meals.
“This year, Courts celebrates its 30-year milestone in Malaysia and we are pleased to be able to galvanise our staff, resources, and partners to reach out to 30 homes for our Rumah Amal Courts initiative.
“The spirit of giving is deeply ingrained in our culture and as we reflect on how far we have come since the opening of our first store in 1987, we are reminded to give back to those who have been at the centre of everything we do – our customers and the community.
“As a retailer committed to superior value and experience, we want to do our part to positively impact and ease the lives of the less fortunate across the country,” said Courts Malaysia country chief executive officer Dolf Posthumus.
As Rumah Amal Courts enters its third year, Courts Malaysia and iM4U will continue their partnership to help the less fortunate nationwide.
