WHEN Dorsett Residences in Sri Hartamas was launched last week, 100 out of 190 units offered in phase one were already taken up.
Malaysia Land Properties Sdn Bhd (Mayland) managing director Datuk Kevin Woo said the development was the first to be more than 75% physically complete at point of sale.
“The development is paired with Dorsett Hospitality, giving you services at your fingertips and facilities at your doorstep as it is set amid more than 600 shops within the Hartamas vicinity,” he noted.
He said the 27-storey building overlooked Kuala Lumpur city centre, and was a short distance to various locations and landmarks.
The freehold development has a total of 707 serviced apartment units with built-ups of between 474sq ft and 1,378sq ft. Unit types include studio, 1+1 as well as two-room units.
Mayland sales and marketing senior general manager Steven Wei said the hotel-service apartment concept was at the peak of its trend.
He said many young professionals and expatriates, which make up the bulk of its target buyers, had a preference for hotel services.
“The units are fully-furnished, which means residents can move in immediately and each phase comes with a carpark,” he added.
Among the development’s other appealing features are a 50m pool, a health-and-wellness centre, a restaurant on the 27thfloor, rooftop gym and a kids’ club.
The development is close to various malls, education and healthcare facilities as well as clubhouses.
Wei said Dorsett Hotel would occupy levels one to 10, comprising 290 rooms.
“It is the first of this concept to be introduced in the Sri Hartamas area, and it should be easily absorbed by the market.
“At the moment, 80% of the buyers are locals, out of which 60% of the units are owner-occupied. Prices average around RM1,100 per sq ft,” he said.
Wei also said that the second phase would be launched in a month’s time and their target was to hand the project over in the first quarter of next year.
