SHAH ALAM: Oleon Port Klang Sdn Bhd (Oleon) has acquired an additional 10.07 acres of land in the Selangor Halal Hub for RM30.7mil to expand its manufacturing facilities. The latest facility is expected to be worth RM200mil and will create more job opportunities for Selangor, especially in sectors requiring high and specialised skills.
Central Spectrum (M) Sdn Bhd (CSSB), a member company of Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), signed a sale and purchase agreement with Oleon, with the aim of expanding the oleochemical plant to meet the increased global demand. CSSB’s portfolio includes Pulau Indah Industrial Park (PIIP) and SBB Industrial Park (SBB).
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Selangor chief minister Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Belgium ambassador to Malaysia Pascal Gregoire and Selangor state secretary Datuk Haris Kassim.
CSSB chief marketing officer Zukarnine Shah Zainal Abidin, Oleon country manager Stephane Bernard and Oleon plant manager Dayalen Raman were also present at the signing.
The ceremony marks another milestone in a longstanding business relationship between CSSB and Oleon Port Klang Sdn Bhd, said CSSB chief executive officer Mohamad Razif Abdul Wahab said.
"Oleon has always been one of our initial and largest investors since 2012, where Oleon invested RM230 million to set up their current plant in Selangor Halal Hub, which has created 130 job opportunities for the local community,” he said.
The signing ceremony also represents Selangor's long-standing relationship with Belgian multinational companies, which stood at 15 projects and investments as of the signing.
