PETALING JAYA: NCT Group of Companies and its subsidiary NCT Land Sdn Bhd are committed to low-carbon industrial development. The NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP) received a five-diamond rating in the Low Carbon Cities 2030 Challenge, making it the first managed smart industrial park in the country to achieve this. This recognition highlights NSIP's dedication to sustainability and innovative low-carbon strategies in industrial development.
The award was presented to NCT by Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad at a ceremony held at Sofitel Hotel Damansara. The LCC 2030 Challenge aids local authorities, developers, and businesses in lowering carbon emissions through sustainable urban planning, focusing on urban infrastructure, transportation and buildings.
“From day one, we envisioned NSIP not just as an excellent industrial park but a world-class low carbon development, focusing on green energy generation, energy system optimisation and industrial sector efficiency that create long-term value for businesses, investors and the community. This recognition will certainly propel us to continue raising the bar through innovative solutions that align with Malaysia’s net-zero ambitions and global sustainability goals while contributing to a greener future,” said NCT Group founder and managing director Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy.
Organised by the Ministry’s Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), the event was attended by industry stakeholders, government representatives and business leaders. Among them were MGTC acting group chief executive officer Saiful Adib Bin Abdul Munaff and NCT Group chief strategist Neil Foo.
The NSIP aims to reduce carbon emissions by 54.64% by 2035, cutting 230,496.41 tonnes of CO₂ annually through solar-ready industrial lots, energy-efficient buildings and green spaces. This initiative also supports a 171.80% increase in carbon sequestration, positioning NSIP as a leader in low-carbon transformation.
Located in Selangor's Integrated Development Region, NSIP spans 732 acres and implements a Low Carbon City Framework (LCCF) to enhance energy efficiency, waste management and mobility, promoting sustainable industrial growth.
Designed as a prime investment destination, NSIP features a strategic location, green infrastructure, and digital solutions, reinforcing Malaysia's future-ready industrial vision.
Since its launch in 2023, NSIP has achieved 80% confirmed sales, reflecting confidence in its innovative and sustainable industrial ecosystem. The company remains dedicated to fostering an environmentally responsible hub through sustainable design and energy-efficient solutions, paving the way for a greener future.
