PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) honoured 77 exemplary real estate professionals at the recent 16th National Real Estate Awards (NREA), graced by the Selangor Chief Minister Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
This year’s theme, Juara Night: Simply for the Best Achievers, underscored the resilience and innovation within Malaysia’s real estate sector, and gave the spotlight to those who have excelled despite a rapidly evolving market.
“The awards not only celebrate those at the pinnacle of their profession but also highlight the diverse experiences and contributions of practitioners at all levels. With a high level of professionalism and exposure by the practitioners in the industry, apart from offering new job creation and rendering quality services, on the other hand, may attract more local and foreign investors to venture into our nation,” Amirudin said.
NREA organizing chairman for 2024, Ahmad Zamzuri, said the remarkable growth in NREA's participation proves the competitiveness and relentless pursuit of excellence by the practitioners, reflecting the industry’s dynamic nature.
“This year, we have a total of 77 winners, surpassing last year’s total of 65. This includes 23 MIEA Million Dollar Award (MMDA) recipients, nearly doubling the previous year’s number. I believe this represents the calibre of exceptional talent within our industry,” he added.
Among the award recipients, Savills Malaysia group managing director and head Datuk Paul Khong Poh Yew was named Real Estate Agent of the Year 2024 and Kozin Real Estate Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Alex Ting Kuang Kuo was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
