PETALING JAYA: MGB Bhd (MGB), a subsidiary of LBS Bina Group Bhd is collaborating with the Selangor state government to build over 7,000 units of Rumah Selangorku Idaman using the in-house Industrialised Build System (IBS) pre-cast technology.

This is in line with the state government’s initiative to boost the construction of affordable housing in the state. The project will be located at Shah Alam, Bandar Saujana Putra, Dengkil, Puncak Alam and Puchong. The project will comprise of high-rise residential homes, starting from RM250,000 with a minimum built-up of 1,000 sq ft per unit which includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms and two parking bays.

In addition, every unit will be partially furnished with a television, refrigerator, TV cabinet, kitchen cabinets, air conditioning and water heater. MGB group managing director Tan Sri Lim Hock San said this aptly named project, Rumah Selangorku Idaman, has proven to be a dire need for the state as the demand for affordable housing is steadily increasing.

Over the years, the Selangor state government has made concerted efforts to help the rakyat to have their own homes and its holistic incentives will improve the economic environment which ultimately enables the property development industry to grow and benefit first time home buyers.

According to Lim, the project exclusively targets home buyers who are working or staying in Selangor and first-time homebuyers who are above 18 years old with a household income of less than RM10,000. He said MGB has built more than 15,500 units of properties in Malaysia since 2007 and currently there is an outstanding order book of approximately RM1.75bil.

With the inclusion of more than 7,000 units of Rumah Selangorku Idaman, the order book will double. The first Rumah Selangorku Idaman project is expected to be launched by the first half of 2021.
