SEREMBAN: Public-listed Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd which has registered another exceptional financial year ending March 31, 2018, will launch a project to build 3,000 affordable homes in the sprawling Bandar Seri Sendayan before year end.

Chairman Datuk Mohamad Haslah Mohamad Amin said the single-storey and double-storey units would cost between RM100,000 and RM300,000 each.

“We have not finalised the prices but they would certainly be cheaper than PR1MA units,” he said at the company’s 20th annual general meeting held at d’Tempat Country Club.

Mohamad Haslah said the company, which has to-date built more than 8,000 units in the new township, will have a similar planning and development plan for the affordable housing project.

“Whatever we built in the higher end units will be incorporated into this project as well,” he said, adding that the total gross development value of its ongoing projects was also set to exceed FY2017’s RM1.9bil.

Earlier during the AGM, shareholders approved the issue of one bonus share for every four Matrix Concepts shares.

Mohamad Haslah said the take up rate for its recently launched 77ha Ara Sendayan project was also encouraging.

“The 200 units built in first phase have been taken up. We are now getting ready to launch phase two,” he said adding that 1,300 units comprising double-storey link units and some semi-detached and bungalows would be built.
