MALAYSIAN developers walked away with four awards from the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards 2017 which was held in conjunction with the FIABCI World Congress 2017 at Andorra.
They won one gold and three silver awards at the ceremony and gala dinner at Andorra Park Hotel, Andorra La Vella, Andorra.
A total of 27 winners were presented at the ceremony this year, comprising 12 gold and 15 silver winners from Taiwan, Malaysia, Hungary, Germany, Indonesia, and Singapore.
The Malaysian developers received their trophies from Andorran Minister of Trade and Tourism Francesc Camp Torres, who presented the trophies to gold winners and FIABCI World President 2016-2017 Kirkor Ajderhanyan, who presented the trophies to silver winners at the awards presentation ceremony.
The Malaysian gold award winner was Bandar Rimbayu in the Master Plan Category by IJM Land Bhd while the Malaysian silver award winners were River Rehabilitation@ By The Sea in Environmental (Rehabilitation/Conservation) Category by Selangor Dredging Bhd, Hap Seng Star Mercedes-Benz Autohaus @ Balakong in Industrial Category by Hap Seng Land Sdn Bhd and Chengal House in Purpose-Built Category by Paramount Corporation Bhd.
The awards committee president Alexander Romanenko, speaking at the awards ceremony, praised the winning projects for having embodied excellence in all real estate disciplines involved in their creation.
He added that the international award had inspired national chapters such as Malaysia, Singapore, Brazil, Taiwan, Indonesia, Hungary, Germany, Russia and Baltic Countries from Europe to organise their local awards which create extraordinary synergy around the world, at the same time promoting and acknowledging excellence within their market.
“National awards are excellent marketing tools for FIABCI. It’s a great opportunity to promote the best projects, good developers and their countries.”
He further elaborated that the entire marking process took two steps, first by judges and then oversight panel, involving 50 judges from more than 30 countries in total.
Ajderhanyan, in his speech, said that FIABCI owes its success to the teamwork by all national chapters.
He also thanked the awards committee, judges, oversight panel as well as the committee organising the Andorra 68th FIABCI World Congress.
“Visionary architectural design, when blended with state-of-the art construction materials, create both efficiency and higher quality of life. Our society benefits from such insightful entrepreneurial endeavours.”
To date, Malaysian developers have won a total of 70 awards in 26 years in the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards, including this year.
