JOHOR BAHRU: Mah Sing Group Bhd’s (Mah Sing) largest township development, Meridin East, saw a massive take-up rate for its Acacia 2 double-storey link homes over the weekend.
This was achieved via Mah Sing’s first virtual official property launch themed a House that Listens to You, which encompasses events like the show unit walkthrough with social media influencer Jazmin Lee.
The Meridin East sales gallery also conducted on-ground activities according to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to safeguard guests who pre-registered to visit the Acacia show unit.
The commendable take up was achieved on the back of the sales team’s continuous dedication and commitment in following up with potential buyers and providing personalised consultation.
The unit has a built-up of 1,838 sq ft offering four bedrooms and three bathrooms with a starting price of RM498,000.
Mah Sing chief operating officer Benjamin Ong said: “We achieve a take-up rate of 80% which comprises 94 units and for a GDV (gross development value) of RM57.2 million. We hope the take-up rate for Acacia Phase 2 is able to meet and reflect similarly following the stellar performance of Acacia Phase 1.“
Phase 1, which we launched on Feb 8, 2020, saw a take up of 100%. It has a GDV of RM55.4mil.
Apart from that, Acacia Phase 2 is a participating project in Mah Sing’s Eazy to Own Campaign, which also offers the Maybank Islamic HouzKEY, an innovative home financing solution that can provide buyers with easy entry of up to 100% financing and lower monthly instalments.
Besides that, Acacia Phase 2 is also participating in Mah Sing’s HOC Plus Campaign, which offers Smart Home System Package to all new purchasers in December.

“The encouraging take-up rate for Acacia Phase 2 is a testament that demand for affordably priced properties of good quality at strategic locations will remain resilient. This positive result is also on the back of the government’s Home Ownership Campaign (HOC) 2020,” said Ong.
Buyers can leverage on the HOC, which includes stamp duty exemption on the instruments of transfer for residential properties limited to the first RM1mil of the home price, and full stamp duty exemption for the loan agreement, he said.
“Our main focus is always on maximising the value that purchasers have invested on us, this can be observed from the work that we have put in on enhancing the infrastructure and environment of Meridin East,” he added.
Located in Pasir Gudang, Meridin East is a 1,313-acre freehold green township. Its 500 acres of lush greenery is accompanied by two nine-acre lakes, 16km jogging and cycling track, children’s playgrounds and basketball courts.
To date, more than 900 units of houses were handed over to purchasers, with more than 50% occupancy rate.
Around 400 units of houses will also be completed and handed over to purchasers in 2021, which further strengthens Meridin East’s position as one of the most livable townships in Pasir Gudang, said Ong.
