JOHOR BARU: Pasir Gudang will soon see a facelift as developer Mah Sing Group brings its largest township development to Johor on a 531.3 ha land in the eastern zone of Iskandar Malaysia.
Meridin East, the group’s latest integrated mixed development with an estimated gross development value of RM5bil, is focused in Kong Kong, Pasir Gudang, which falls under Flagship Zone D of Iskandar.
Group senior chief operating officer James A. Bruyns said there were many potential as well as land bank in Pasir Gudang, which attracted the company to bring the development to the area.
He said the western side of Iskandar has already seen a lot of developments and the group decided to shift its focus to the eastern side with the introduction of this project. The township is slated to be fully completed in 15 years.
“With Pengerang and Desaru being developed for its tourism and oil and gas hub, we foresee a rise in the demand for residential and commercial lots, making this the right location to cater to those demand,” he told a media briefing.
The project is made up of five phases. The first phase, of which construction has already begun, is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2018.
