KUALA LUMPUR: Mah Sing Group Bhd (Mah Sing) has carried out the groundbreaking of the Mah Sing DC Hub@Southville City, which will feature a state-of-the-art 25km dedicated fibre trunk linking the hub to Cyberjaya. This initiative aims to significantly enhance regional connectivity, providing high-speed, low-latency access to critical data hubs and direct routes to Singapore’s cloud services and fintech ecosystem.
The ceremony was attended by Mah Sing founder and group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum, deputy chief executive officer (CEO) Lionel Leong, Front Connect Sdn Bhd (FCSB) CEO Mansor Mohd Kassim and director Sun Jian Wei.
With immediate access to power, water and high-speed connectivity, the hub offers a compelling speed-to-market advantage for businesses looking to establish their presence in the digital landscape. Under a profit-sharing model, FCSB will oversee the fibre connectivity, ensuring mutual long-term benefits. The strategic location also allows for a secondary route through Fiberail’s network, adding layers of stability and resilience to the infrastructure.
As the Malaysian data centre market continues to grow due to increasing cloud adoption and 5G expansion, Mah Sing’s investment positions the hub as a cost-effective solution for scalability and network expansion. The infrastructure supports long-term lease agreements, enhancing telecommunications and enterprise connectivity across the region.
Spanning 150 acres, Mah Sing DC Hub@Southville City will boast an impressive 500 megawatts (MW) power capacity, making it an attractive destination for data centre investments. The hub’s well-planned infrastructure allows businesses to set up faster than in competing areas, facilitating rapid deployment.
“The dedicated fibre trunk is a testament to our commitment to building a well-equipped, future-ready data hub that meets the urgency of today’s digital demands. By enhancing connectivity and ensuring redundancy, we are strengthening our position as a high-performance data centre location, always ready to serve the evolving needs of the industry,” said Lionel.
