KUALA LUMPUR: Mah Sing Group Bhd (Mah Sing) on April 18 celebrated the completion of its M Oscar residential development with an appreciation night with bankers, media, analysts and agents.

Located 800m from Taman Naga Emas MRT station, the fully sold M Oscar marks Mah Sing’s debut residential development in the well-established neighbourhood of Sri Petaling, surrounded by excellent connectivity and ready amenities.

Mah Sing founder and group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum said: “We are delighted to announce the completion of M Oscar, marking another milestone in our journey of excellence at Mah Sing. It is the first development we have completed this year and there will be more to come. M Oscar stands as a testament to our dedication to creating homes that meet and exceed our valued customers' expectations. We are proud to see our vision come to life and look forward to continuing to enrich lives through exceptional developments.

“For instance, the six plots of land that we acquired since 2023 are targeted to be launched this year. Earlier this month, we also acquired another 100 acres of land in Mukim Pulai, Johor Bahru to develop M Tiara 2. Moving forward, we will continue to acquire attractively priced lands in strategic locations to meet future market demand for homes.”

“In celebration of Mah Sing's 30th anniversary this year, we kick-started our mega giveaway campaign offering prizes worth RM500,000 which include a trio of electric vehicles and cash prizes, with the Tesla Model 3 among one of the top prizes for our customers. The campaign starts on 8 April, 2024 and will run until 31 March, 2025. During the campaign, homebuyers who have purchased our participating projects and signed the Sales and Purchase Agreement will qualify for participation,” he added.

Also at the celebration were Mah Sing corporate administration vice president Puan Sri Sulvian Leong, executive director Datuk Seri Leong Yuet Mei, deputy group chief executive officer and executive director Lionel Leong, chief operating officer Chris Chen, group strategy and operations directors Rachel Leong and Jane Leong and property subsidiaries chief executive officers Benjamin Ong and Yeoh Chee Beng.

Over the years, Mah Sing’s M Series developments have built a strong reputation by consistently achieving impressive take-up rates. This success is further proven by the Group’s financial achievement of RM2.26bil in property sales in 2023, surpassing the set minimum of RM2.2bil target. Looking ahead, 2024 promises to be an exciting year as Mah Sing intends to launch all the new developments acquired since 2023. These include M Terra and M Hana in Puchong, M Tiara in Johor, M Legasi in Semenyih, M Zenya in Kepong, M Azura in Setapak, as well as Mah Sing Business Park in Sepang to expand the Group’s industrial development portfolio.

Qlassic score of 85%

M Oscar achieved a commendable 85% score in the Quality Assessment System in Construction (Qlassic) by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB). The certification was presented by CIDB Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Zaid Zakaria.

Mah Sing group chief executive officer and executive director Datuk Voon Tin Yow said: “We are proud of our achievement of consistently surpassing industry standards with our Qlassic scores. This achievement speaks volumes about the dedication and hard work of our team. It also reaffirms our commitment to delivering projects of the highest quality. For this, I wish to extend my sincere appreciation to all our partners including our consultants and contractors, who played a role in the success of M Oscar. I look forward to replicating the success in our upcoming projects.”

2.4 million man-hours without LTI

The construction of M Oscar was completed with an exemplary 2.4 million man-hours without LTI. Mah Sing and its partners prioritize the well-being of employees, where the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) department organises safety and health awareness programmes and briefings at the construction site regularly to maintain a safe working environment. The certification was presented by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya deputy operations director Nor Zamzuri Md Nor.

This achievement aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UNSDG) 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth. Goal 8 aims to promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.
