LANDED properties and projects by the sea are among the hottest items at the StarProperty.my Fair 2017 at Queensbay Mall, receiving great response and numerous queries.
Potensi Utama’s Permai Villa, comprising terrace and semi-detached homes in Bukit Mertajam, BDB Land’s Darulaman Perdana in Sungai Petani, Hunza Properties’ Mekarsari in Bertam, Tambun Indah Land’s Pearl Tropika and Raintree Park in Simpang Ampat, Emerald Capital’s ParkVille in Balik Pulau were among the projects that caught the attention of visitors during the fair.
Zeon Properties Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Leon Lee said landed homes are scarce and expensive on the island.
“This is why those looking for landed homes have turned their attention to Seberang Prai and Sungai Petani, where terrace and semi-detached homes are priced affordably,” he added.
Mah Sing Group Bhd senior chief operating officer Seth Lim said projects by sea tend to have a competitive edge.
He said this was based on the group’s experience with its projects in Southbay City in Batu Maung and Ferringhi Residence in Batu Ferringhi.
“The schemes are popular because they are near the sea, which gives them an edge in generating higher rental returns. We get a lot of interest for the projects from people from Alor Setar, Sungai Petani and Kuala Lumpur.
“Most of them are looking to own a second home which could generate long-term recurring rental income,” he added.
Hunza Properties Bhd executive director Lily Tan said the company sold about RM3mil worth of properties at the fair.
“Landed properties in Mekarsari received good response because the project is located in Bertam, close to educational institutions, hospitals, hypermarkets and other lifestyle facilities,” she added.
