Iskandar Malaysia, which was crowned the southern economic growth corridor in 2006, is well on its way to becoming an international metropolis by 2025.
Johor Real Estate and Housing Developers Association (Rehda) branch chairman Datuk Steve Chong Yoon On said Iskandar Malaysia was the most viable economic growth corridor in Malaysia.
“The addition of the New Coastal Highway, the Eastern Dispersal Expressway, the Pasir Gudang Coastal Highway and the Southern Link has improved the connectivity and accessibility of the Iskandar Malaysia flagship zones, making it an attractive choice for housebuyers,” said Chong.
The other economic growth corridors in Malaysia are the Northern Economic Region, East Coast Economic Region, Sabah Development Corridor and Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy.
Chong also noted that before the inception of Iskandar Malaysia, property prices in southern Johor were stagnant, but now it was on the rise due to the high demand for high-end residential properties in the area.
