Visitors to KPMM-Mapex event can make early bookings
HOUSES priced below RM500,000 are not that hard to find – if you know where to look.
At the upcoming Affordable Housing Carnival-Malaysia Property Expo (KPMM-Mapex), buyers will be able to look at a wide range of residential units priced less than half a million with attractive promotions offered by developers.
The event, jointly organised by Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (Rehda) Malaysia and the Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government (KPKT), will be held from Aug 11 to 13, Friday to Sunday, from 10.30am to 7pm at the Shah Alam Convention Centre in Selangor.
“The carnival is held to create awareness about the availability of affordable homes in the market. By attending the event, visitors will get the chance to make early bookings of the properties they want to buy and also talk to the developers and exhibitors,” said Rehda Selangor branch chairman Zulkifly Garib.
He added that the event was expected to attract more visitors than last year, bringing the target number from 50,000 to 60,000.
He said Rehda would give a cash incentive to the first 25 buyers at the carnival while individual developers may offer their own incentives.
Zulkifly advised those buying their first home to look out for properties with potential for capital appreciation.
"Choose a property that has easy access and make sure it is within your budget.
“The reputation of the developer is an important consideration when choosing properties. Buyers should also see what they are getting from the property in terms of facilities or amenities,” he said.
Among the developers participating in KPMM-Mapex are Glomac Bhd, IJM Land Bhd, MKH Bhd, S P Setia Bhd Group, UEM Sunrise Bhd, Mitraland Group, Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd and several agencies under the National Housing Department.
This special edition housing carnival will also showcase properties with bumiputra discounts.
According to Mapex Committee 2017 chairman Datuk Ng Seing Liong, Rehda estimates that more than 60 developers, government agencies as well as financial institutions will take part in this carnival.
“I urge those interested in participating to act fast as choice booths are limited,” said Ng.
“Rehda is confident that with the tremendous support from developers, government agencies and financial institutions, Mapex will continue to be the right platform that connects buyers with their dream homes,” added Ng.
The exhibition is themed “Rumah Mampu Milik Sempurna, Rakyat Sejahtera” and is expected to be open by Prime Minister Datuk Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak on Saturday, Aug 12.
Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar has also been invited to the event.
Various exciting activities and attractive prizes have been lined up for visitors during the three-day carnival, aside from the RM300,000 in cash rebates for lucky house buyers.
Visitors will also get the chance to pick up property tips from renowned industry experts during the property talks segments, which will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
