PETALING JAYA: Fajarbaru Builder Group Bhd and Melbourne-based property player Beulah International have joined hands with world-class design firm Fender Katsalidis Architects (FKA) and award-winning landscape designer Paul Bangay to pioneer Australia’s first high-rise indoor forest as part of the upcoming Paragon development in Melbourne.

Situated within the 48-level Paragon development, the three-storey high urban forest will be a conservatory-like feature with a carefully composed selection of mature trees, leafy canopies, climbing gardens and grassy spaces, complete with refined terrazzo pavers and outdoor seating zones.

Paragon, which will be located at the former Celtic Club site in the heart of the Melbourne central business district (CBD), will consist of 220 luxury apartments designed by FKA as well as a first-of-its-kind elevated indoor urban forest, nestled high above the bustling city below.

Paragon will be the second collaboration between FKA and Beulah International after the successful Hallmark Ivanhoe project, which sold over 80% of the apartments within the first two weeks.

Beulah International, which is led by executive director Adelene Teh, a second-generation Malaysian property developer and managing director Jiaheng Chan, is making its mark in the Australian property scene, and recently clinched the Game-changer of the Year award for the company’s benchmark project, Gardenhill.

“Our vision as a developer has always been to transform a project into something people will enjoy and something that will add value into their lives, rather than just use,” Teh said in a statement.

Architect and founding director of FKA, Nonda Katsalidis said two entire floors of Paragon would be dedicated to premium residential amenities, with the urban forest sandwiched in between.

“We have positioned the gym, pool and residential entertaining areas with a view to allow greater exposure to this enormous conservatory-like space, which is intrinsic to the sense of sanctuary we are trying to create for the residents,” he said.

Paragon’s architecture maximises views, allowing the majority of residences prized corner vistas while limiting density to between four and six residences per floor, and two penthouses occupying the topmost, 48th level.

Malaysians will have the opportunity to view and purchase the apartments at St Regis Hotel Kuala Lumpur on April 22-23 from 10am to 6pm as part of the global launch.
