PETALING JAYA: THE property development arm of IJM Corporation Berhad, IJM Land Berhad (“IJM Land”), has once again been named as one of Malaysia’s 10 most active property developers by construction consultancy BCI Asia. The awards were presented at the 12th annual BCI Asia Awards 2016 ceremony held at JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur on 27 May 2016.
IJM Land managing director Edward Chong was present to receive the Top 10 Developers Award. This is the fourth accolade IJM Land has received from the organisation and it solidifies our position as a leader in the property industry in Malaysia.
“We are deeply honoured to be recognised as industry leaders. Designing sustainable developments is indeed the way of the future. Eco-innovation in building design and sustainable integration are the two key pillars that we at IJM Land continuously aspire to attain in all our developments. While most industry players recognise the need to aspire towards sustainable development, here at IJM Land we walk the talk, embedding sustainability elements into the very DNA of our developments such as the examples of THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang, Bandar Rimbayu, Seremban 2 and Pantai Sentral Park, and we will continue to remain focused on this principle,” says Chong.
First launched in 2011, the Awards are given out to developers and architectural firms that have built and designed the most number of buildings in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The criteria for the Top 10 Awards were expanded to include a focus on sustainability. 2016 winners were those developer firms with the most accumulated value of projects under construction during the last full calendar year, weighted by the extent of their sustainability efforts and green building ratings.
