i-City's Mercu Maybank wins FIABCI Award

SHAH ALAM: I-Berhad’s asset, Mercu Maybank, a prominent GBI-certified Grade A office tower within Malaysia No 1 Technology, i-City has won the prestigious FIABCI Award in the office category. 

The award, stands as a testament to the I-Berhad’s commitment to excellence and innovation, aligning seamlessly with the i-City’s mission to evolve into a thriving Digital City in line with Malaysia's broader digital transformation goals. 

The award recognises Mercu Maybank's exceptional contributions to the office space landscape, acknowledging its innovative design, innovative use of technology to reduce carbon footprints, and its positive impact on the socio-economic development of Shah Alam, the capital city of Selangor. 

Strategically positioned within i-City, Mercu Maybank has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of Shah Alam with its capability of attracting strong multinational technology brands and technology. 

According to I-City director Monica Ong, i-City is a tech-centric integrated ultrapolis, which is also an MSC Cybercentre. It is served by a smart IT ecosystem, infrastructure and dedicated internet access powered by a high-availability network. 

“i-City also has its own Tier-3 certified data centre on site, to fulfil tenant’s growing data needs. This was instrumental to Mercu Maybank’s victory at the FIABCI Awards,” she said, adding that i-City is becoming a powerhouse of innovation and technology businesses with ongoing partnerships with technology industry leaders, the latest being CelcomDigi. 

“Coupled with top-notched amenities like 5-Star DoubleTree by Hilton i-City, Thailand’s Central i-City Mall, a host of digitally advanced attractions, residential options such as BeCentral, which is scheduled to be completed in mid-2025, LRT3 i-City Station slated to operate by March 2025, i-City is poised to provide a good environment to foster a vibrant and interconnected community driven by technology and innovation,” she said. 

Ong explained that as the nation accelerates its initiative to revolutionise Malaysia’s digital capabilities to firmly establish the country as Asean’s digital hub, i-City will be growing alongside to establish the ultrapolis into a leading digital city in Malaysia, enabling and inspiring innovations with its robust ecosystem and network with leading technology providers from all over the world.
