SUNGAI BULOH: In the minimalist-style living room of couple Cheam Tong Meng and Ang Shwu Shon, bathed in serene cream paintwork with splashes of dark blue, it is immediately clear the detailed care the couple took to decorate their house.
Cheam, 39, and Ang, 38, are fans of the Perfect Livin’ Home and Lifestyle Exhibition.
“We always look forward to going to Perfect Livin’ exhibitions because we find this to be the biggest one for these kind of home decor events. When it comes to the exhibition, everything is there,” said Cheam, a car importer.
“We also have a lot of property that we rent out to expatriates; we find it convenient to find affordable furniture and household items in one place to furnish the property,” he added.
Cheam and his wife were also impressed with the wide variety of products that come in different price range.
“They bring in the good brands – the brands that people look for,” he said, adding that the couple often used the exhibition as a chance to upgrade the electrical items in their house.
The couple also said that shopping for household items and home decor at Perfect Livin’ has saved them about RM40,000 in the past three years because many of the items were sold at attractive promotional prices.
The convenience of having everything under one roof is also a major factor why Mega Tan, 51, and his wife May Ng, 49, frequented the Perfect Livin’ exhibition for past eight years.
“It’s very convenient; we just have to go there instead of different shops,” said Ng, a company director, who stays in Sungai Buloh.
Everything is there,” added Tan, a group managing director.
Ng said the prices were competitive.
“There are always promotions on the household items,” she said.
The couple said Perfect Livin’ had also led them to the discovery of “the perfect garden contractor” for their home.
Sitting in their dining room overlooking an oriental-style koi pond, the couple said they first met Sunny Low Kok Kong, designer of the koi pond and managing director of Maxly Landscape Sdn Bhd, at the Perfect Livin’ exhibition eight years ago.
“Since then, Low has helped us design our gardens at our old house and the present one. And he has become a family friend as well,” he said.
