OF ALL the benefits that a city has to offer its residents – endless culinary opportunities, great shopping and myriad cultural attractions, lush greenery is not usually one of them.
But for residents of The Horizon Residences, they get to enjoy the lifestyle of the city and be in close proximity with nature.
Nestled along Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur, the luxury service apartment offers home buyers unblocked views of the stunning city skyline and the absolute green tranquility of the Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC).
With a gross development value of RM378mil, the 1.26-acre development features two residential towers consisting of 335 units with built-up areas ranging from 550sq ft to 3,550sq ft.
Home buyers get to choose from a wide range of floor layouts ranging from studio to penthouse, with the units priced from RM698,000 to RM 5.9mil.
Hap Seng Land Sdn Bhd Property Division (West Malaysia) chief operating officer David Khor said The Horizon Residences, bearing the tagline ‘One Address with Two Stunning Views’, was the company’s first foray into the luxury residential property segment.
“At Hap Seng, it is our passion and motivation to innovate and deliver high quality products that can add value to the lives of our purchasers.
“As this was our first luxury service apartment development, we were committed to going the extra mile and making it the best residential component we have to offer in the heart of the city,” he said.
“We wanted to give our residents a home where they can live near the city and enjoy its exciting lifestyle and also relax in a refreshing ambience of bountiful greenery.
“To achieve this product, we went through a thorough process of planning, designing and detailing with a team of renowned consultants,” Khor explained.
The Horizon Residences is touted as the only service apartment within the vicinity of the Golden Triangle that has a direct view of the golf course and the Kuala Lumpur city skyline.
To ensure the majority of the units overlook the golf course and the city, Khor said the towers were specially designed so that 60% of the units have both views while the remainder 40% have either view.
“In view of the elongated site, all units were assembled in a single loaded configuration to capitalise on the views and vistas. This gives most units a panoramic view and also allows natural cross ventilation.
“To avoid having a normal solution of a single massive linear block, an innovative solution of two T-shaped footprints was adopted to help reduce the scale of the architecture.
“We also took into account the existing trees at the border of the golf course, which we preserved from the commencement of construction in December 2011 so that we could uphold the green component of our development.
“To further accentuate the green concept, we covered the elevated car park podium with vertical greens to shield the car park area from direct sunlight and provide visual comfort,” he added.
“This has not only created aesthetically pleasing facade but also a sustainable contribution to the environment,” he shared, adding that the freehold apartment was completed in August 2015 with 27 residential floors and a total of five carpark floors.
Speaking of the building’s exterior appearance, the main massing of The Horizon towers accentuates a clean and modern cut and is primarily covered with glass wall.
The contemporary tropical details of the facade also add to the interplay of shadows created by the high pillars and walls, protruded balconies, sun shading ledges and fins, which also act as rain breakers.
Upon entering the apartment’s vicinity, residents and visitors can expect to be greeted by the resort-style lush landscape and linear water features along the driveway, creating a tranquil and welcoming ambience away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
To add value to the development, all units are partly furnished with built-in wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, oven, microwave, induction cooking hob and exhaust hood.
Besides that, residents can also enjoy a wide variety of facilities that are strategically located on the amenities deck, overlooking the greenery of RSGC, to create a sense of luxurious retreat.
Some of the amenities include a 50m infinity edge lap pool in a spalike setting with floating lounger, timber deck and mature trees, floating gym, steam room, sauna room and wading pool.
“Most people lead busy lifestyles nowadays. To encourage residents to spend time with family and friends, The Horizon also has an outdoor kitchen and barbeque area near the pool where they can unwind, hold events and chill.
“Other basic amenities which they can enjoy are a nursery, children’s playground, convenience store and a multi-purpose hall,” Khor added.
This year, The Horizon Residences bagged the High-Rise Category winner of Fiabci Malaysia Property Awards 2017 for its outstanding planning, architecture and overall development excellence.
“We expected it to be a tough challenge as many condominiums and service apartment developments were completed around the same time, and some of the developments were designed by world-renowned architects.
“Winning this award certainly uplifted our reputation, especially for our property division. In previous years, we have only won the Fiabci awards for the Industrial and Office categories.
“Hence, we are honoured to win this award which will further motivate us to improve and continue to innovate new products for our customers,” said Hap Seng Land Sdn Bhd (West Malaysia) projects general manager 1 Allan Teh Lip Wei.
Hap Seng Group won the Fiabci Malaysia Property Awards 2008 (in the Specialised Project Category and Industry Category), 2009 (in the Office Development Category) and 2016 (in the Industrial Category).
Internationally, the group was the silver winner of the Industrial Category in the Fiabci World Prix d’Excellence Awards this year.
