The Faldo Junior Tour and the Faldo Futures Malaysia Qualifying Event are open to Malaysian golfers aged 7 to 21.
KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Property’s Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) was delighted to host golf legend and six-time Major Champion Sir Nick Faldo at an exclusive signing ceremony earlier this month. Faldo has officially joined as KLGCC’s new golf course design consultant, marking the beginning of an exciting journey to enhance the club’s East Course.
The signing between Faldo, representing Faldo Design Inc, and KLGCC director Jordan Ng. Present at the event were KLGCC club president Tun Musa Hitam, club captains Datuk Syed Tamim Ansari Syed Mohamed and Adam Calver, France Ambassador to Malaysia Axel Crua, India High Commissioner to Malaysia BN Reddy and Faldo Design Inc representative Mark Adams. Guests enjoyed memorable moments with Faldo, including autographs and photos.
Faldo expressed enthusiasm for his first project in Malaysia, aiming to elevate KLGCC’s East Course by leveraging its natural landscape. Alongside his Faldo Design team, he plans to transform the course into one of exceptional quality.
As part of this partnership, KLGCC will host two prestigious Faldo Series tournaments: the Faldo Junior Tour and the Faldo Futures Malaysia Qualifying Event, open to Malaysian golfers aged 7 to 21. This offers young players a chance to engage in competitive golf and gain international exposure, following in the footsteps of notable alumni like Rory McIlroy and Kelly Tan.
Faldo is also launching the Faldo Futures for kids aged 7-12, providing an enjoyable introduction to golf competitions before they progress to the Junior Tour. This initiative offers a structured pathway culminating in the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final.
