THE Kampar District Council will be giving out recyclable bags to the first 3,000 ratepayers who settle their annual assessment in full this year.
Council President Khairul Amir Mohamad Zubir ( above right) said the giveaway was part of efforts to reduce the usage of plastic bags in Kampar and Gopeng.
“In fact, this is a continuation of our ‘Greening the Neighbourhood’ initiative. Last year, we gave out tiffin carriers to ratepayers to discourage the use of polystyrene containers,” he said.
The recyclable bags bearing the council’s green logo were designed by Ngdawiyah’s Gesture Drawing Team of People of Random Talents (PORT) will be given out at the council’s administrative building and Plaza Keranji in Kampar, and its Gopeng assessment payment counter.
