ON MALAYSIA Day, Subang residents can join in an 18.8km ride which starts from USJ 2 or a fun ride for novice cyclists through a 3km or 1km route.
Organised by the Zon 3 Residents Association, the Hari Malaysia Bicycle Fun Ride aims to unite the immediate community through cycling.
Deputy president Datuk Nor Azman Abd Rahman said the event hoped to bring together all Malaysians to celebrate Sept 16.
“This event will show the united spirit of Malaysians and bring together all residents in the area,” he said.
Organising chairman Har Yin Geong explained that the event had already attracted 2,000 sign-ups.
“The event is also open to children and there is no age limit for registration,” Har said.
He added that the association would get help from the police and St John Ambulance to ensure smooth proceedings and there would be water stations for the 18.8km ride.
All riders are urged to wear helmets and ensure their bicycles have proper brakes.
At a modest registration fee of RM5 for the 18.8km ride, all cyclists will receive a T-Shirt and breakfast.
