Exhibitors at the StarProperty.my Fair 2017 in Penang reported positive response from home-buyers and investors at the just-concluded four-day event.
A good number of deals were closed at their respective booths spread across Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon Mall, with more purchases to be finalised in the coming weeks pending viewing of show units.
Zeon Properties chief executive officer Leon Lee said they secured sales worth RM60mil for various projects.
One of them was City Of Dreams, which attracted homebuyers with a great location in Tanjung Tokong and lavish amenities, said to be a first for a residential development in Malaysia.
Zeon Properties also marketed other projects from various developers, including My Sakura 28 in Batu Maung by Devoteshens Sdn Bhd, Parkville in Balik Pulau by Eureka Artisan Sdn Bhd, and Feringghi Residence 2 in Batu Feringghi by Mah Sing Group.
Also exhibited were Prominence by Bionic Development in Bukit Mertajam on the Penang mainland, as well as Forest City in Iskandar, Johor, by Country Garden Pacific View, and Sentral Suites in KL Sentral by Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd.
Lee said the property market was picking up again after a slowdown, with people feeling that now was a good time to invest.
“Buyers on the whole are confident in purchasing properties if the projects cater to their needs, have good surrounding infrastructure or have great potential.
“Properties on Penang Island remain highly attractive due to the dwindling amount of land. Those on the mainland are more affordable but have good appreciation value as the area is set to boom and mature in the coming years.
“Forest City in Johor is also popular among those working in Singapore, or have children studying there,” added Lee, who later gave a talk on the property outlook in Penang.
