KUALA LUMPUR: UEM Sunrise Bhd will be timing the launch of Kiara Bay’s second phase, Residensi Zig, on Sept 16, in unison with Malaysia Day.

Following a strong take-up rate of Residensi Ava, Kiara Bay’s first phase, the new development is a 3.4-acre leasehold residence with a total of 1,126 units. Residensi Zig has a build-up from 450 sq ft to 1,198 sq ft, with a starting price of RM340,888.

“We are excited to unveil the second phase of Kiara Bay, Residensi ZIG, a biophilic residence conceptualised to bring us back to our roots and demonstrate that nature can co-exist with our homes,” UEM Sunrise chief marketing officer Kenny Wong said.

Overlooking the Taman Tasik Metropolitan Kepong lake, the design of Residensi Zig follows a biophilic theme focused on reconnecting its occupants with nature to improve their physical and mental well-being, Wong said.

The residence aims to emulate the rainforest, adapting flora around and within different levels. 

“What we’re going to make sure is, even as we introduce the 73 acres of development, the biodiversity isn’t negated. And what we’re trying to do is embark on biophilic architecture, which means that the materials that we use, the way we orientate the buildings, the way we create the landscape from the development will encourage biodiversity growth within it,” UEM Sunrise chief development officer Mardiana Rahayu Tukiran said.

The development is located in Kepong, with access to highways such as the Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2), Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE), Selayang-Kepong highway and Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP).

Kiara Bay’s current township plan has 15 developable plots, roads, green pathways and open spaces. After its initial launch in 2019 and the subsequent pandemic conditions, UEM Sunrise has begun a replanning process of its township development that includes 13 plots of developable land, among others, currently under review by the authorities. 

As of August 2023, UEM Sunrise has met its financial target for the year. With an estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM646.2mil, Residensi Zig is scheduled to be completed in Q4 2027.
