PETALING JAYA: Two men were severely injured while three others suffered minor injuries when two levels of a building which is still under construction collapsed.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Mohd Sani Harul said they received a distress call about the incident at Jalan PS-6 Fasa II Prima Selayang at about 4.45am.
“The victims were rescued by other construction workers before we arrived,” he said.
The victims were taken to the Selayang Hospital for treatment.
Mohd Sani said investigations revealed that the floor of the building which was still under construction had collapsed.
“According to the site manager, three men escaped unscathed, three suffered minor injuries while two were severely injured,” he said.
Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Ali Ahmad said the five injured were two Indonesians and three Bangladeshis aged between 36 and 41.
The building, which is located along Jalan Ipoh, is a high rise project.
“The floors affected are on the fourth and sixth floor,” he said adding that all the workers have valid documents.
