PETALING JAYA: 250 runners participated in Tropicana Golf and Country Resort’s (TGCR) annual Nite Race, a nighttime running event that offered cash prizes worth up to RM500.
The Nite Race had three categories catering to diverse ages. Category A was a 5km run for 13 to 17 years of age, Category B was an 8km run for 18 to 44 year of age and Category C was a 5km run for those aged 45 years and above.
“Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we were unable to hold the run in the past two years. We are pleased to revive this tradition as part of our core mission of Redefining the Art of Healthy Living. It is gratifying to see the strong support from the community and turnout for the event, right here at the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort where Tropicana’s journey began,” TGCR general manager Sharudin bin Kamarudin said.
Winners in each category received a medal for their achievement. Participants were entitled to a lucky draw, with prizes such as a flight ticket to Vietnam as well as vouchers from Focus Point, Komugi and McDonald’s.
Yingxue Fan and Tireshh Rajamogan took the first place for girls and boys respectively in Category A while in Category B, the first place winners were Lim Ket Yeng (women) and Pearljit Singh (men). In Category C, the first to cross the line was Cindy Lai Williams (women) and Wang Kim Sieng (men).
