PETALING JAYA: Tropicana Golf and Country Resort, a subsidiary of Tropicana Corporation Bhd (Tropicana), rolled out its famous Santapan 28 Malam on a positive note in line with its environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) principle.
Spreading festive cheer to 100 children from three orphanage homes, the children broke their fast with the resort’s celebrated Santapan 29 Malam – Selera Muhibbah Iftar buffet, with the homes receiving duit raya and cash donations.
Tropicana executive director Allan Wong Weng Keong said: “The month of Ramadan brings ample opportunity for reflection and appreciation. With Tropicana’s focus on reaching out to those in need as we Redefine the Art of Caring, we brought underprivileged children and their caretakers to Tropicana Golf and Country Resort, where we pioneered resort-style development in 1992.
“Surrounded by the warmth and hospitality of our signature kampung-style dining, we invited them to break their fast with over 300 dishes and live cooking stations, while supporting each home with cash donations.”
Also present were the resort’s general manager Ravindran Varnagopal, deputy general manager David Wang and F&B senior manager Abdul Razak.
The buka puasa was preceded by a lively presentation of the upcoming dishes by 12 chefs and assistants, showcasing many specialities, including the newly introduced beef skin in coconut curry with bird’s eye chilli, a Negeri Sembilan favourite.
The recipients were Rumah Perlindungan Safiyyah, Pusat Jagaan Amal Asyura and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ehsan Ash-Shakur.
Along with the donation, the charitable initiative underscored Tropicana’s commitment to engaging with and uplifting underprivileged segments of society. In 2022, Tropicana Foundation channelled RM3 million to charitable causes across Malaysia.
The Iftar buffet is available for private events, with tickets ranging from RM60 (children) and RM128 (adults) for members to RM75 (children) and RM148 (adults) for non-members. For bookings, please call 03-7804 8888 or email fnb@tropicanacorp.com.my.
Just ahead of Ramadan, Tropicana Foundation also hosted a festive gathering for 600 underprivileged children at Tropicana Gardens Mall, Kota Damansara. The children, from 23 charity homes and orphanages throughout Klang Valley, were treated to hearty meals by The Chicken Rice Shop and DubuYo, as well as ceramic coaster painting workshops by Good Times.
The kids were also invited to meet their heroes at The World of DC Exhibition, featuring iconic characters such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and the Flash. Tickets for the event were sponsored by WOW Event Asia.
