PETALING JAYA: Sime Darby Property Bhd has won the World Gold award for its City of Elmina and the World Silver award for Cantara Residences at the 2023 FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence Awards held in Florida, United States.

Organised by Fédération Internationale des Administrateurs de Bien-Conselis Immobiliers (FIABCI), the World Prix d'Excellence Awards recognise projects that best demonstrate excellence throughout all real estate disciplines that went into their construction.

“It is a remarkable accomplishment for the Company to receive these awards on an international scale. We will remain dedicated to keep innovating and stay adaptable to the industry's megatrends while striving to raise the bar in the industry,” said group managing director Datuk Azmir Merican.

The award-winning City of Elmina in Selangor was designed for multi-generational living with a green-inspired community. The masterplan incorporates all facets of life-based on its Eight Pillars of Wellness as a guiding principle and is in line with Mercer's Quality of Living Survey's evaluation of liveability around the world. The 6,500-acre City of Elmina has expansive parklands that are supported by the 2,700-acre Bukit Cherakah Forest Reserve and is planned with a 90km interconnected jogging and cycling track as well as a 300-acre Central Park that has hosted numerous sizable community celebrations and events.

Cantara Residences, which consists of four towers housing 888 serviced residences and 13 Green Building Index (GBI) Gold-certified retail units, is noted for its 168m-long, unique double-story Living Sky Bridge which is classified in the Malaysia Book of Records as The Longest Residential Sky Bridge in the nation. Located in Ara Damansara, Cantara Residences also includes 3.2 acres of shared facilities situated amid a refreshing urban forest, which has helped to expand the number of greeneries by 200% since the start of development.

“We thank FIABCI for acknowledging our potential and look forward to constantly delivering liveability and sustainability for the benefit of our stakeholders,” Azmir added.
