THE Malay reserve land and real estate should not be sidelined by bumiputras with the assumption that it is hard to gain good returns as compared to other properties across the nation.
Property consultant Khairul Anuar said it is common to have this wrong perception, but in fact many of such properties in the country, especially in the Klang Valley vicinity, are able to give a good return.
The question on the return was among the top five most raised doubts on Malay reserve land and property by bumiputras, according to Anuar.
“The government has allocated Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) houses to be sold to the second generation of the Felda families in support of bumiputras to invest in real estate.
“There has been many Malay reserve land since the 1980’s. There has not been a drop in value for these lands over the years,” said Anuar, who added that most of the assets are still available in the state of Kelantan and Selangor.
“The quota discount percentage also varies by state. If you are a bumiputra and you buy a property, there is a discount of 30% in Selangor,” added Anuar.
“There is absolutely no reason to have a stigma in investing on a Malay reserve land as it promises high returns, making it a very good investment in the future,” he said.
Khairul Anuar was one of the speakers during the Konvensyen Hartanah organised by StarProperty.my.
His talk, conducted in Bahasa, was titled “Tanah Rezab Melayu dan Hartanah Bumiputra”.
The convention also saw speakers such as Mohd Ali Majis, Mark Chua and Norisah Ibrahim giving talks on the bumiputra real estate scene.
